Welcome to the first edition of the Australasian Dermatology Registry newsletter for 2025.
In the lead up to the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ Annual Scientific Meeting (ACD ASM), we would like to take the opportunity to highlight the benefits of the registry and some of the achievements since our establishment in September 2023. With over 1200 patients enrolled from public and private sites across Australia, the registry is generating valuable data to support the clinical management of skin conditions and provide a platform for dermatological research.
Our recent publication in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology “Development of the Australasian Dermatology Registry” details the registry’s design, governance structure, and recruitment strategy. Currently the registry captures data on patients treated for psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa and vitiligo, with plans to expand into new conditions in the future.
This year the registry will have a strong presence at the ACD ASM with four posters and a registrar presentation using registry data. The registry team also has a table within the patient advocacy exhibition area and will be available to answer any questions you may have, provide face-to-face training on how to use the registry and enroll any clinics that are interested in participating.
