ACD RURAL DERMATOLOGY MEETING SEPTEMBER 2024

The Australasian Dermatology Registry team is gearing up to present at the upcoming Australasian College of Dermatologists 8th Rural Dermatology Meeting, on “Rural patients within the Australasian Dermatology Registry.” This presentation will explore how registry data can be used to compare rural, regional and metropolitan patients’ demographics and outcomes to identify, where additional support is required.

The team will also host a dedicated booth at the meeting, providing dermatologists with a firsthand opportunity to engage with the registry. This interactive setup allows attendees to explore the registry’s functionalities, understand its scope, and learn how they can become involved.

The Australasian Dermatology Registry itself represents a pivotal initiative in the field, aiming to collate comprehensive data from dermatological practices across Australasia. By capturing information from diverse patient demographics, including rural populations, the registry aims to foster evidence-based practices and enhance patient outcomes on a national scale.

For rural practitioners, the registry presents a unique opportunity to contribute to and benefit from a wealth of data that might otherwise be scarce in remote settings. By showcasing how rural patients are represented within the registry, the team hopes to demonstrate its relevance and encourage broader participation among dermatologists working in underserved areas.

The 8th Rural Dermatology Meeting promises to be a crucial juncture for advancing the dialogue on dermatological care in rural Australia. As attendees converge to learn, share, and collaborate, the Australasian Dermatology Registry team stands ready to facilitate meaningful discussions and pave the way for a more inclusive and data-driven approach to dermatology across the region.
